Question:
Why does WinOLS limit the number of versions per project?
Answer:
The problem is that with that many versions, WinOLS becomes slow for some actions (like adding an element). We've seen several cases where customers unintentionally triggered such an action and then killed WinOLS, because it didn't react timely. Since WinOLS was busy with the file, the entire file with several hundred versions was corrupted.
That's why we added this limit. Smaller projects make WinOLS faster and reduce the possible loss.
